St Michael’s Church has a very fine stained glass World War 1 Memorial Window in the side Chapel of Adoration. This chapel is to the right of the main altar of the church, and the memorial window is on the left-hand side of the chapel.This window honours the memory of Major John Carlon Markes, who was killed in action on Wednesday 19 th. July 1916, aged 36.
