Reflection – “Take a Risk for Christ (Year of Vocations)
“Answering God’s call to journey as a priest is a counter-cultural and courageous decision. Future priests need support to discern their vocation” – Bishop Alphonsus Cullinan
The Year for Vocations to the Diocesan Priesthood begins this Sunday (30th April – Good Shepherd Sunday). Over the twelve-month period, it is planned to host events in parishes and at pilgrim sites around the country, and to provide resources for homes and schools. We are encouraged to pray for vocations to the Diocesan Priesthood so that our parishes and can continue to be places where the Eucharist is celebrated into the future.
‘God of the poor…Bring healing to our lives, that we may protect the world and not prey on it, that we may sow beauty, not pollution and destruction… Teach us to discover the worth of each thing, to be filled with awe and contemplation, to see that we are profoundly united with every creature…’ Pope Francis – Laudato Si #246 |
