Day For Life: is celebrated this Sunday the 16th June. The theme is “The Lord is my Shepherd” – compassion and hope at the end of life
“All life has inestimable value even the weakest and most vulnerable, the sick, the old, the unborn and the poor are masterpieces of God’s creation, made in his own image, destined to live forever, and deserving of the utmost reverence and respect.” Pope Francis
REFLECTION
First they came for the unborn child And I did not speak out because I was not an unborn child.
Then they came for the elderly and hopelessly ill And I did not speak out because I was young and healthy.
Then they came for the refugee and the homeless And I did not speak out because I had a country and a home.
Then they came for God And I did not speak out because I had forgotten Him.
Then they came for me And there was no one left to speak out for me.
Laudato Si ‘ … A true ecological approach always becomes a social approach; it must integrate questions of justice in debates on the environment, so as to hear both the cry of the earth and the cry of the poor …’ Pope Francis, Laudato Si’#49
