Readers of the Word: At the end of the Year of Mercy Pope francis proposed setting aside a Sunday given entirely to the Word of God, so as to appreciate the “inexhaustible riches contained in that constant dialogue between God and his people”. This Sunday we celebrate ‘Sunday of the Word’. We are presently looking for additional readers of the Word at our week day and weekend masses. This is a very worthwhile and privileged ministry to read and communicate God’s Word to others. It is also another way to use a God given gift that one has and be involved in the faith of the parish.  Why not volunteer today after mass?

Feast of St. Brigid: is celebrated next Sat 1st Feb.  Born around 454, she is one of Ireland’s patron saints, renowned for her hospitality, welcome and for her care of the sick. She should be an inspiration to us all – men & women in how we celebrate and live our Christian faith today.
