ST MICHAEL’S PARISH TIPPERARY

Fifth Sunday of Lent > B 21 March 2021

Reflection: Lent reminds us that ‘God loved us so much that he was generous with his mercy. If we have faith in that mercy we will not be lost. We have to bring that message to all, we have to be his ambassadors of love, justice, mercy and peace in the world of everyday. As Christians, we have to teach the world of the saving work of Jesus Christ, by the example of our lives.

Tipperary Parish Lotto

While people have been very generous during the past 12 months, all parishes have experienced a significant reduction in income. As a way of supplementing our Parish Income in Tipperary we are introducing a Parish Weekly Lotto. It is an online lotto – €2 per line and 3 lines for €5. That is the maximum that can be spent per week. The first draw will take place on Thursday 8th April and the opening Jackpot is €1,000. It will increase each week to a maximum of €5,000. Maintenance at St. Michael’s Church and parish properties is ongoing – we have installed a Security System, Camera for Online Mass – that has been a real blessing especially for funerals during the lock down. We are at present upgrading broadband to the church to improve the reliability of the online facility. The outdoor toilets have been upgraded and we hope to renovate the Presbytery on St. Michael’s Street as a Pastoral Centre and Parish Office before the end of this year. The Lotto we hope will be a steady income to assist in this work with a chance for all to win. If the jackpot is not won there will be a lucky dip winner each week.
Online is very simple to use – go to our Parish Website www.stmichaelsparishtipperary.ie as you do for mass and press the Parish Lotto Button for details on how to join. I’m sure there are family members in every home who can assist with joining online. Online is also a way for those away from Tipperary to join and support our work here in St. Michael’s.
We hope that the weekly option of €2 per line will allow everybody to continue to or to start contributing. Please pass the word on and invite friends and family.
If you can contribute 3 lines for €5 it would be hugely appreciated and you never know you might just win!
The link is now open to join.

Parish Office & Sacristy: Remains closed until the Government Level 5 restrictions end . Masses can be booked in, certificates can be arranged if you make contact by phone each morning 10.45am -12 noon on 062 52727
