REFLECTION: Lent is a time to reflects on our relationship with Jesus – where is that relationship in my life at this particular time? It is a time to ask myself, when did I last have an experience of his God’s presence in my life? We can only be the light of God’s love and presence to others when we have allowed his light and love to touch our own lives. The experience of God’s presence sustained Abraham in his Faith Journey. The disciples Peter, James and John were strengthened by their experience of Jesus on the mountain in today’s gospel – as they were encouraged ‘to Listen to Him’.
In the words of the American poet, Amanda Gorman, we are all called to –‘….step out of the shade, aflame and unafraid.
The new dawn blooms as we free it.
For there is always light,
if only we’re brave enough to see it.
If only we’re brave enough to be it.

Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ in the heart of every one who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
