Pallotine Mission Appeal: Frs. Oliver O’Brien, Martin Mareja and Bro Stephen Buckley from the Pallottine Fathers Missions will be here at all Masses on 21st /22th June 2025 to promote their mission work. The Pallottines were founded by Saint Vincent Pallotti, who was born in Rome in 1795.  From his childhood he offered his life to the service of the poor, and founded the Union of Catholic Apostolate.  At that time the laity were not actively involved in the ministry of the Church and Saint Vincent wanted to inspire people of all walks of life to work for God’s kingdom.  Saint Vincent wanted people to treat those in need “with care and with a loving concern”.  He died in 1850, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire people today.

Reflection: “One of the key challenges today is that of individuality –when ‘I’ comes first, without thought of the other.  I’m not surprised that we have lonely young people and lonely elderly people; it is not surprising me that we have racist divisions – if ‘I’ is all that matters. When we enter into the mystery of the relationality of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit), we can no longer exclude people.  All are equally loved and valued by God                           Revd Dr. Elizabeth Welch

‘…The world that surrounds us is not an object of exploitation, unbridled use and ambition… we are part of nature included in it and thus in constant interaction with it, and thus we do not look at the world from without but from within…’             Pope Francis…. Laudato Deum#25
